FAQ

How far is a 15k?
A 15k is 9.3 miles.

Where is the start and finish line located?
The 2023 MGC Long Run will start and finish at Columbia Craft Brewery and features a brand-new race course through downtown Columbia! Stick around after the race for a race party and awards ceremony!

Is there a time limit for the 15k?
Yes, there is a two-hour time limit. This is in place for your safety! After two hours, we no longer have police, medical and volunteer support. If you are still on the course at the two-hour mark, you will be picked up by one of our officials.

Is this race for serious runners only?
No! The great thing about a 15k is that it is more challenging than a 5k or 10k, but not as strenuous as a half-marathon.

What is your refund policy?
Once your registration has been accepted, all fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Can you mail my race packet to me?
Unfortunately, we cannot mail race packets. Packets will be available for pick-up on Friday, February 3 at Strictly Running, as well as prior to the start of the race on Saturday, February 4. You may have a friend or family member pick up your race packet for you. They will need to bring your bib number (included in your confirmation email sent the week of the race).

Can I transfer to another event?

Yes, but if you are going up to a longer distance you will have to pay the difference of the current registration cost for that event. Please contact Strictly Running for more information.

Where is the best place to park?
Metered parking is available on the streets in the surrounding areas. There are also a number of public parking garages nearby.

Can I wear headphones? Can I run with a stroller or my dog?
Unofficial bicycles, skates, in-line skates and skateboards are prohibited. All pets are prohibited for both the 15k and 5k races. Strollers are prohibited in the 15k race. This is not a closed race course. We will have some police support and volunteer course marshalls to assist with traffic, but you will be running on roads with vehicular traffic. While we cannot prevent you from running with headphones, we advise against it. Please note that when running with headphones, you should keep the music to a level where you are still fully aware of your surroundings (i.e., a car blowing its horn to warn you, people shouting to tell you a car is coming, etc.).

How do I get my chip time?
There will be a tent with finish line tickets immediately following the race. Times will be available at www.strictlyrunning.com on race day.

What happens if it rains?
The event is held rain or shine.

Will there be a bag check?
We do not offer bag check at this event.
